Station 18, Darlington Twp., was alerted to the 3700 block of Darlington Road for a brush fire shortly after 1pm.
Upon arrival, Chief 18-10 immediately requested South Beaver (Sta. 61) and Chippewa (Sta. 22) to assist. Brush and Engine 22 arrived first on scene due to the fact that 18 and 61 units came upon another brush fire just a short distance up the road!
At the direction of 18-10, Chippewa crews quickly deployed 2 200’ forestry lines. 18 and 61 units arrived and with hand tools, all crews worked together to surround and extinguish the large fire that was spreading rapidly up hill, deeper into the woods.
During the overhaul phase, 61 was alerted for a brush fire in their area. Brush 61 along with Engine 18 responded while Station 22 crews and tanker 18 remained on scene to extinguish hot spots. |
