Today, the Beaver County Firefighters Association held its 2022 graduation for those who completed the Essentials of Firefighting program and / or achieved their Firefighter I Pro Board Certification.
Chippewa was represented by Firefighters Justin Gantz and Ryan Soisson. In this ceremony , firefighters “officially” are pinned with their department badges.
Captain, Ralph Gantz of the Monaca Fire Department had the privilege of pinning his son, Justin and Ryan was pinned by Assistant Chief Dave Przybysz.
Ryan was also awarded the Leadership Award, voted on by his classmates, for showing outstanding leadership skills during their classes.
Ryan and Justin made it a point throughout their training to not only have each other backs but, to help many of their classmates along the way.
Dignitaries in attendance included Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner, Charles McGarvey, Thomas Cook from the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, the Beaver County Commissioners and key note speaker, Darryl Jones, Chief of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire. |
